Thanks for visiting my Avon Walk page. I've committed to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It's a big commitment, one that will require me to spend the next several months training and fundraising. But breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and I'm determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. I'll be just one of thousands of people that will walk up to a marathon and a half over a weekend, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people.

I can't do it without your help. Though I'm required to raise at least $1,800 in donation, I plan to raise much more! I hope that I can count on your support.

I decided to take this walk on several months ago after learning about the work the Avon Foundation is doing in the lives of people affected by breast cancer. Not only does the Avon Foundation assist with research for a cure but they also help those in need of assistance from the beginning with screenings to the end with masectomies and counseling. Just since 2003 over 180,000 participants such as myself has raised over $440 million. This money has assisted people from all over the country.  Keep this in mind also, MD Anderson is one of the grant recipents of the Avon Foundation in Houston, TX. Most people from our area go to MD for care when diagnosed. The chances of someone from your town recieving your donation is very probable.

You can make a donation to my fundraising campaign right here on the website by clicking on the pink "Donate Now" button. If you prefer to write a check, just contact me and I'll send you the information and form.

As I prepare for this exciting event, I plan to update this page frequently so that all my supporters can follow my progress, so please visit often. While you're here, you might want to spend some time on the site to find out more information on why this event is so important, and the organizations and people that will be helped by the money we all raise.

Thank you in advance.

Exciting things are happening!
I spent the majority of my day speaking to various businesses in the Ocean Springs area and local news agencies. I am right in the middle of planning a concert and silent auction to get the Gulf Coast behind this wonderful foundation.
It is in the middle of all of this that I can't stop thinking about Tane! I know that she would be so proud of me and everything that I am doing to make this happen. No person should ever walk away from a foundation that assists those with cancer and feel the way she felt. She was so lost and unsure of how she would fight for her life. Fear, pure fear is what she felt. While Tane was a women of immence faith she for a moment didn't know what God had in store for her. No women should have to feel that way, EVER!
Please stay tuned!! Music, fellowship and fundraising are in store for the walk! I can't wait to have you all there!!!
