2009 Washington DC Walk
I am a 23 year survivor of Stage 2 breast cancer! I was diagnosed at age 32! Too many men and women have breast cancer. We need to strive for a cure and continue with early detection!
************************
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Avon Breast Cancer Walk page. For the 10th year in a row, I have committed a weekend to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I spent 2000-2001 WALKING in 3 events (San Diego and 2 Washington DC) and have CREWED the 2002-2007 events (all Wash DC). In 2008 I returned to the ranks of walker and will do it again in 2009.
************************
Let us never forget all the people fighting Breast Cancer today. They don't have the luxury of putting it aside for another day.

September 2008 Update
I just returned from Walt Disney World and a Disney Cruise. I would like to thank Chris and Jenny Murray, Masayo, and Nozomi for their donations to my Avon Walk.
I would also like to give a special shout out to 2 ladies I met on Sept 4th as we took a Pink Ribbon walk on the Disney Magic. To Virginia - who was diagnosed in January 2008 and has an amazing attitude! To Liz - a 2.5 year Ovarian Cancer survivor! I was blessed to meet and speak with both of you ladies.
Thank you!

August 2008 - Training Update
While I'm far from hard core training right now, I do my best to keep in shape and active. I work out at least 3 times a week, at least one of those times a 3 mile walk. So far, so good. August weather here in DC is like springtime and we are loving it!!!! I'll keep working out until my training for the walk cranks up after the holidays.

July 2008 Fundraising Update
I just returned from a wonderful weekend called MagicMeets (for Disney fans). I met several women who are breast cancer survivors and one who just finished her treatments. Very emotional.
A gentleman who every year seeks me out and hands me his donation was there again this year, Thank you!!!!!
We had a fundraiser on Friday Evening called Celebrity Magic Tunes (Think Name that Tune). Each attendee who came to the game made a minimum $5 donation at the door. The proceeds were shared between 2 of our charities. I am honored to thank the Celebrity Magic Tunes attendees who donated $650 - $325 of which is for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer! THANK YOU.
