Hi everyone. My name is Matthew Santosuosso and I would like to thank you for visiting my Avon Walk page. This year I have committed to participating in the Avon Walk for breast cancer with my cousin Marylou Lossman for the second year in a row. The pictures on this page are of two women who mean so much to me in my life. Early in 2007 I lost my aunt, Linda Penta. She was a breast cancer survivor and she fought long and hard to beat the disease. The other picture on this page is my long time friend Sarah Tipton. I found out earlier last year that she has breast cancer. She fought for a long time and she can say now that she is in remission. They both are strong, loving, and caring women who would do ANYTHING for their family and friends at the drop of a hat. That is why I wanted to join my cousin Marylou again this year in the Avon walk. I want to walk for the people that we love and the people that we have lost. Breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and I’m determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it. I’ll be just one of thousands of people that will walk up to a marathon and a half over a weekend, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people. |

About the Avon Foundation
Since it was founded in 1955, the Avon Foundation has been committed to the mission to improve the lives of women and their families. Now past the half century milestone, the Avon Foundation brings this mission to life through two key areas of focus: breast cancer and domestic violence. From an initial $400 scholarship in 1955, Avon philanthropy has expanded globally and through 2008 exceeded $660 million raised and awarded worldwide. The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade launched in 1992, and Avon breast cancer programs in over 50 countries support advancing access to care and finding a cure for breast cancer, with a focus on the medically underserved.
