As I begin my 13th year of walking and fundraising for the fight against breast cancer, I find myself with another reason for doing this. On July 13, 2009, my husband Bob, the Team California pink sign guy, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer that had spread to his liver. He is doing ok with the help of chemotherapy drugs and a clinical trial. It is my hope that the money we are raising for research and the answers being found to fight breast cancer, may also be answers to 'bring down' other cancers.
I have completed 111 long distance breast cancer walks, walked over 6100 miles, and raised over $1.13m in this fight. My plan for 2010 is to walk in as many walks as we can and raise as much money as possible towards my 2nd million.

ONE HUNDRED+WALKS/ONE MILLION+DOLLARS
On May 6, 2010, Bob died peacefully at home. His request was that in lieu of flowers donations be made to breast cancer. He also wanted me to continue being involved in this cause.
I thank everyone that has supported us by your notes, calls, donations, prayers, and thoughts this past year. It helped, along with our network of dear friends and wonderful family.
I feel truly blessed.
