Help me celebrate my birthday by raising money for a wonderful cause!

On June 10th, I will turn 35... that's right... my 35th birthday!

For my 35th birthday, I have committed to participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

It’s a big commitment, one that will require me to spend the next several months training and fundraising.

But breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and I’m determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. I’ll be just one of thousands of people that will walk up to a marathon and a half over a weekend, raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people.

I can’t do it without your help. Though I’m required to raise at least $1,800 in donation, I plan to raise much more!

I hope that I can count on your support. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated. I need to reach the minimum goal of $1,800 to fulfill my birthday wish and walk in the Avon 2 Day!

Updates on Michelle's progress towards her birthday wish

01/14/2009 - I registered today. I am very excited. At the end of October, I promised myself that if I started to live a more healthy lifestyle, then I would join the Avon 2 Day walk to celebrate my 35th birthday. Since October 22nd, I have lost 16 pounds through diet and exercise. I am hoping to continue my healthy goals, raise money for a wonderful cause and celebrate a new "Healthy" me on my birthday.

In South Africa
Well, I am working in South Africa during the month of April. I am very excited to be back here working. I am trying to get in as much walking as possible... training for the big weekend! I hope to visit the botanical gardens near Pertoria and do some walking. Wish me luck with my training & don't forget to make a donation.

Family Video Fundraiser
Today, I raised over $200 dollars towards my goal! I would like to thank Dan and all the staff at Family Video on Maple & Belmont in Downers Grove, IL for allowing me to hold a Valentine's Day fund raising event. I want thank all the Family Video customers for their generosity and encouragement. I am deeply thankful for all the donations that were given to support my birthday wish.
