Welcome, and thanks for visiting our team's Walk the Course home page!
We all know that there's strength in numbers, so we've banded together to show just how important it is to put an end to the suffering caused by domestic violence. On April 27, 2010 we’ll be walking with hundreds of others in the Avon Foundation Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence event, held in collaboration with the PGA TOUR Wives Association and the Quail Hollow Championship to raise funds and awareness for this vital issue.
Domestic Violence affects one in three women globally, and it’s estimated that up to 15 million children in the United States are witnesses to it every year. Because of these shocking statistics, our team is determined to do everything we can to help end the cycle of abuse. The money we raise will be managed and distributed by the Avon Foundation for Women to domestic violence organizations in North Carolina, including The Shelter of Gaston County, United Family Services Shelter for Battered Women, Turning Point of Union County and the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence to support education, prevention, and direct service programs for those in need.
You can make an online donation to any team member by clicking on their name. If you'd prefer to write a check, just contact one of us and we'll send you the information and donation form. While you're here, you might want to spend some time on the Walk the Course site to find out more information on why this event is so important, and the organizations and people that will be helped by the money we all raise.
Please check back here frequently to see how we're doing, and of course, let us know if you want to join our team!
Please know that every dollar you donate is making a difference. 100% of the event proceeds will go towards this cause. Thank you in advance for your support!
